Farah graduated from Kingston University in 2006 with a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance. After graduation she got a job with BAA Group, and then Mars Chocolate where she started her ACCA Qualification.
"I chose ACCA for a few reasons. Firstly, my tutors at university made it clear that ACCA was the best qualification and strongly supported it as the best option after graduation. Secondly, it was the most varied of the qualifications. I think you come out of uni not knowing exactly what you want to do, and ACCA gives you that flexibility and choice. You can learn about tax and audit, and it gives you more skills than just pure accountancy."
Now a Finance Performance Analyst at BP and a full ACCA Member, Farah supports other teams and ensures that they are following the BP forecasting and adhering to controls. She also report to key deadlines and give insight to various teams, as well as reviewing with leadership teams to ensure everything is on track.
"I love the fact I’m not stuck in a finance team and get to liaise and attend meetings with people across the business. It gives me an insight into the bigger picture, which I think is really important."
