Alina moved to the UK from her native Romania in 2008 to pursue a degree in Accounting and Finance at the University of West London. She graduated with a First in 2011 and started working for the BBC, where she also began studying for her ACCA Qualification.
"I’m a content accountant at BBC North, where my main tasks are to provide professional financial support to the Business Managers, Editors, Budget Holders and Finance Centre of Excellence teams, provide effective controllership and deliver operational excellence.”
Alina became an ACCA Member in 2015, and has worked hard to achieve excellence in her studies through planning and careful revision.
“A piece of advice would be to plan the study time properly before each exam session and stick to it as much as you can. Personally I think you can’t pass these papers by being hopeful and spotting questions because they usually cover an awful lot of syllabus."
Now fully qualified, Alina plans to stay at the BBC and make full use of her ACCA Qualification in practice. "The ACCA qualification has equipped me with more technical knowledge and self-confidence in my day to day job and also in interviews, to build my professional career."
